These volunteers come from all walks of life,  some are retired  firefighters, while others have no past history of service.
However the common bond is a keen interest to preserve the Fire Heritage of this country for the generations that will follow.

Members can chose the type of work that suits them best,  with most choosing to work on the mechanical side.  We also have a team working on the acquisition and collating of all fire related artefacts, its an equally large task requiring staff ideally with a background in the fire service, to ease identification of items within the stores.
We are also currently on the lookout for a Librarian to assist within the archive section.
If after looking at this site you feel you would like to offer some of your time to volunteer, them please Email us with your details,  listing any skills you may have.

The Site here at Weedon.
Viewed from the Western end of the central canal.

Anyone living in any country  worldwide that has an interest in UK Fire History is welcome to join the Friends, its not too expensive - Just £10 for UK individual membership. Or £15 for international members per year.
We try to maintain good contact with our membership through our  magazines and newsletter’s, and we have just started a members forum on this site so that you can keep in touch.
Some of the Friends that live within an easy travelling distance of the site form the nucleus of the volunteer’s working on the collection. There are approximately 19 members that work on this basis, each joining one of
the Service teams that work here regularly during most weeks of the year.
